Hi all, my williams has had a chip fitted, im wondering what the factory rev limit was because i can rev over to 7000rpm.

not factory limit! IIRC it should be 6500 or so. Most off the shelf chips will allow engine to rev to 7000. my HP stage 1 chip does anyway.

6800 is std limiter. mine hits as 6800 every time. although......... when i went in northys in angelsey his hit limiter at 6500 on the nose. diff people report diff rpm's

can confirm 6500
anything higher and you have been mapped

yep.

6500 limit std.

i believe the kill power chip ups the revs to 7200, most off the shelf chips do, but thats all they do, raise the limiter, theres no mapping to support the raised limiter.

mine hits at 7100

a little off topic but where is peak power on std willy cams?

is there advantage of raising rev limit without different map and cams?

yes...even though peak power is at 6500 rpm lets say it's much easier for the car to accelerate in 3rd gear compared to 4th so using the extra revs will make it quicker..
