Do this myself, so why use their CAD package when you have CATIA!!

Custom everything, if only I could afford the fabrication!!

Pro engineer is the way forward IMO

Just about got to the point in my education of using autocad, its a right arse to use, well for simple tack it is, expect when you start getting more and more complex its a wonder, still how complex can designing buildings and bridges etc be

heehee, well i cheat and use solidworks.

autocad is great for free 2d drafting.

So basically do the job a civil engineer does, except a civil engineer will do lots of other thigs as well :P

No. Civils don't do what I do/what I do is a branch of Civils.

I used it throughout my degree, the CAD tutor reackoned i was the only person in the class who understood autocad and maxx.

I used to charge a tenner for doing peoples CAD work for their project work, lol

Its a shame im a network support bod now, dont get much chance to use it :(

I use it at work too, im coming out of my time as a Designer for military aircraft.

That's what I'm thinking as well mate. Dull as **** in an office. I also did 10months as a structural engineer when I first left uni but they're worse paid and it's a much, much harder job!
