The new RS clio has one (similar box to the 105hp 1.5dci engine) the Megan 225/dci 1.9 120hp have 6 speeds but there all hydrolic so you'd have to make them fit.

Don't understand why, when you can hit 120 in 4th, you need to be sat at 4k rpm at 80 in 5th.

I can only hit about 105mph before the limiter cuts in when I'm in fourth. :? Then I change into fifth and.....not much acceleration....but fifth is still too short, as I hit the limiter :x

Valver

1st - 35-40
2nd - 60-65
3rd - 90
4th - 120
5th - 140

Think thats about right, but I agree with the 4k revs at 80 in 5th, no need!lol

Yep, as far as I'm aware, the standard Williams rev-limit is 6,600rpm, which is about 105, may be a few mph more.

Wonder why Renault decided to lower the limiter so much for the Willy? :?

I think my speedo must be reading a little lower than standard, as 138mph is all I can get before the limiter comes in. :(

Limiter on willy is 6.5K IIRC becuase of the longer stroke of the engine. Mine is running 7k and is fine.

Mine has willy engine and 16v gbox, does 90 in 3rd, 110 in 4th and 137+ in 5th. Havent had it much more than that but reckon she should do 145+ indicated. Jus cant find many roads long enough in scotland where i am. All tight and twisty!! :twisted: \:D/

I thought that willy box and 16v box were same ratio's jus willy box is stronger and can cope with more torque!? :? But loads of ppl tell ya different stuff so u never know wot to believe!

I had them both and they have different ratios with willys being sorter..
Your car must accelerate a little bit harder than if you had a willy gearbox.
I was looking for 6 speed gearbox but the cost is too high,so im going for a complete gearkit from Italy with long first and shorter all the other gears with 1300-1500 quid.With this gearkit the fifth gear hits only 127 miles at 9000rpm.

On average - normal driving it cuts in at 6500, but once the oil is warmed above 80c then i can reach 6600 - 6700 as discovered at donnington

Deffo had 120 on the clocks in 4th in mine. Got to 130 in 5th before the brick-like aero-dynamics prevented further progress. I think I was sat at 5k then.

Thats on a standard engine and only modifications be a backbox and panel filter no ecu mods at all apart from a williams 2 ECU to go with the engine.
So how can people with valver gearboxes get more than what i can then or is it different car to car and mods?

5th.....errrrrrr pass..ran out of road the 1 and only time iv had it off clock..stil had revs to go.

What's your limiter at mate? I only tried to see what mine got after the Kirmanator told me he could get 120 in 4th in his old valver.

Well, after a bit of experiamenting, mine won't go any higher than 6,500, even when thoroughly warmed. Max speeds are...

1st - 32mph
2nd - 58
3rd - 82
4th - 108
5th - 138

Need to raise my limiter :twisted:

mine normally hits limiter at 6500rpm, sometimes it hits at 6800rpm, dont know why, max speed in 4th last time i checked was 105 in mine, 138 in 5th
