View Full Version : Track Rods
I've been told by Renault that there are two types for the Williams, but they can't tell what type mine are even if I give them my VIN number.
Can anyone shed any light on this? Are Renault talking bollocks? How can I find out what type I have? What are the differences?
Help appreciated, cheers :)

What's your chassis no.?
Dialogies are showing two variations for the williams, one with a clamp type end on the track rod end, the other with what looks like a screw type join

These are what they list for 17:
77 01 469 778 ARM STEERING 30.08 ---3 x 1
60 00 022 720 ARM STG LH 30.08 ---3 x 1
60 00 022 721 ARM STEERING 30.08 ---3 x 1
and this is what they list for 12:
77 01 467 616 ARM STG RH 67.91 ---3 x 1
Think the LH thing is a typo, as the other side are both LH, think its ment to be RH
The part ending ...721 is the track rod end for the clamp type, but what the other two are is a mystery
:?
What does the 17 and 12 mean?
Hopefully the ones I've order will fit :?
Its just the part numbers on the diagram
Oh yeah, I see now
Cheers for the info mate. Will just cross my fingers and hope I've got them right, cos I haven't a clue what that lot means :P
Ah, I understand now. The difference is that one type of track rod has a female end, the other type a male end. Sods law say that I got the wrong type :x
I may have some brand new (female type) track rods, if Renault don't take them back, if anyone is interested....
Does anyone reckon that if I buy the other type of tie rods (to fit my new track rods), they'll still fit my steering rack? Hmmmm....
