My headlights were out last time. There will be something. Although I'm hoping that since I've asked him to quote for fitting my PAS pump he might not feel the need to add any little extras on. :P

Good luck, i've got mine on 26th of this month, it will fail on something, last time tehre was a massive list of things, bearings, shocks emissions, blowing exhaust, indicators etc etc

Swervin_Mervin

It's failed. On "quite a few things actually".

Don't know what it can have failed on other than emissions. All the lights work, there's no windscreen cracks, the brakes work and have plenty on them, the tyres are all new.

The only thing I know is ****ed is the PAS pump. Wish they'd hurry up and call me back.

Oh ****.

Here goes:

Headlights out of alignment (knew that)
Hub/strut bolts loose (not too bad)
o/s front brake hose split (not too bad)
centre silencer cracked and leaking
PAS ****ed :P
floor/sill on both sides near rear axle corroded and in need of plating/welding
front brakes not braking evenly

Sorry to hear that mate. Guess that means the track day is out of the question now :(

Swervin_Mervin

Are there any aftermarket centre silencers that won't bugger the emissions up?

Zollo
13-10-2005, 15:46
I don't think a centre silencer will effect the emmissions, just the cat.

I'm getting a centre section made up for £60, so that shouldn't be to expensive for you.

Yup.

Thing is I don't have the time mate. Car needs taxing ASAP and the MOT has already expired at the end of Sept, so I might have to plump for a OE job.

I notice Sebring do them but for £107.

I think Northy said Magnex ones are £70, but I don't really rate them...noisey and fall apart regularly.

You can always get one made up another time and sell the OE one on.

Good luck with the rest of it :P

Swervin_Mervin

Aye, looks like another trip to my good friends at GSF.

At least it didn't fail on emissions. :P

Swervin_Mervin

Weird. GSF don't do a centre silencer for the valver/willy. :?

Over £10 cheaper than renault for a brake hose though!
