Think its standard on Willys, well mine has one, and so does Northys, tis sumething to do with the alarm, Valet switch I seem to recall. Mine doesn;t work :P
the only thing I noticed is with the engine running, if you flick the switch the led flashes....

Me saying that i rememner a while ago speaking to a Renault mechanic in Malvern about my Williams and he was telling me about when they were first imported from the land of the French he was with a team of collegues who fitted alarms to them. Now i thought he said they did it to all of them but my original Williams no.378 didnt have an alarm??
Can anybody solve this mistery??
Might pop back up there one day to find out some more info :!:
the switch cancells out the 15second imobaliser alarm.
so is it like the auto-arming of the immobliser, if I flick the switch the immoblizer will not auto-arm...
and the alarm should also operate the indicators as well??
cos mine don't at the mo...
the switch cancells out the 15second imobaliser alarm.
Aaaaah, that's what the little bugger does :P
iv got 1 of those 2!
always wondered wot it dus!.....my alarm dusnt work properly....
if i turn the key in the alarm box under the bonnet the alarm gos off but i cant switch it off....my indicators also do not flash!!! is it sumthin 2 do with this little switch???....
which way shud it be swicthd?
It is the bypass switch as Northy said.
My alarm keyfob is fooked so I permenantly have the switch flicked off, and to make sure I didn't get stranded it is held down by gaffer tape.
If I remember correctly the switch in the armed position is up, i.e. pointing towards the passenger.
Anybody know if changing the alarm for a better one is a simple job. Can I or the alarm fitter be able to use the sensors, or is it a whole rewire job?
ta
the original cobra alarms arnt the best - and i would recomend a full upgrade.
i can tell u how to remove it and where everything is - but unless your clued up on autoelectrics - leave it to the professionals.
