clutch pedal

i think the garage has put in a wrong pedal :? its real high and the biting point is rite at the top, its all wrong i think. my knee bashes the steering wheel :x what do i do???

hmmmmmmmm not sure! must admit my biting point was higher when i had the new cable! gotta remember that this is brand new gear youve had put in mate and its gonna feel different???? but i would ask for a few more opinions of peeps on here before u go back

Biting point is automoatic, try taking the cable off the pedal, and re fitting it, as it will automatically tension it for you.

To be honest its prolly just the new pedal, after all its new as opposed to being 10 years old (?).

It SHOUDL feel lighter too, as Renault released a modded pedal mechanism to try and cure the stiff pedal

There should be a plastic bush thing in the pedal i think. I remember taking mine out when my clutch was getting low so the pedal was higher. It sits alot higher with this missing

after my cable going thts exactly wot happened to mine, but the bitting point was fine, got used to it now, but sometimes wen driving and after changing gear the pedal goes floppy(loose) then wen i change gear again it tightens back up, think its time to replace the ratchet!

the biting point on mine is like when the clutch was fooked on my rt. maybe my clutch needs changin???

Have you checked what i said mate? The pedal goes really high if you take out the plastic bit :) Told you to do it yourself too :wink:

ok, just looked. its missing. assuming its on the front of the pedal? its not there, can you buy them??

It's on the side of the pedal. The bar which the pedal sits on, passes through it.

Have a word with the garage that fitted your pedal, because I don't think you can buy these separately and the pedal is a pain in the arse to fit and it would have to come off for the bush to be fitted.

Go back to that garage mate and ask them for it. If that fails nip to a breakers yard and get one. They just pull out

iv jus ad a new clutch.....feels bit stifer but more or less same as b4, that luks stupidly high m8 :shock: u cd get part number of wot they fitted and check with wot they shuda fittd!
