although they look the same, for me they are completely different cars, behave differently, drive is different and with the willy you dont have to completely thrash it to move. If your gonna buy a valver youre settling for second best in my opinion.

Unless you're on a short twisty mainly 2nd gear track I'd say the willy must be worth the extra.

Not enough to make me want one though. :P

Williams every time. It's not just the performance gains which appeal to me, it's the exclusivety, classic status and looks. It really makes you feel good and you're driving something special when people point and stare when you drive past them, and get people asking questions at petrol stations. So the answer to your question is YES, definitely worth the extra insurance imo

I want a willy as well but was thinking about insurance. They want about £300 a year more from me for basically another clio

I really dont see the point in buying a williams after owning a valver... pointless wud buy a different car.

at the end of the day its only a clio

I'd love to drive a williams to compare but I don't think the difference is worth paying £3000+ plus insurance. You could probably drop bring yours to williams spec for less than the difference.

i currently have both, i have a bog std valver and a chipped induction kitted and decated willy2, both are low and we went out for a thrash yesterday and once you hit the end of second you really notice the difference, the willy just ****s off pulling 3 cars on the valver. Also my valver is no slouch, low milage, new gb and a new headgasket.. I wasnt really thrashing the willy only went up to 5k revs. I have owned 3 valvers and 2 willys and the willys are in a class of itheir own in comparison.

i had a valver and a williams parked up outside when i first bought the williams. i intended to keep both. 3 months after id bought the willy...i thort id better take the valver for a spin....it was up for sale 1/2 hour later.

mind u....i had a willy 1 and 2 also....the willy 2 never got driven either until i had to sell it

but then i wasnt payin a grand for ins let alone 3..

I went from a Valver to Willy, didn't think there would be much difference, but there is, definatly

As above everthing has been mentioned, Valver is an excellent car but it's DEFO worth the extra dosh for a Williams....unless you pay silly insurance. I waited till I was a bit older to get mine so the insurance wasn't stupid.

After my valver I was thinking about a 172 Exclusive.

TBH I've been a couple of willys now and although they might be quicker etc, I have no yearning for one at all. If I get something quicker it's going to have to be considerably quicker to warrant the extra expense.
