i've just bought a clio williams 2, which i'm extremely happy with! :)
but have noticed that when you disconnect the battery, you are practically deafened by an extreme alarm!!

does anyone know if there's a way of turning it off???

any help would be appreciated

Mine is a laser line (I think) and it has a key which you use to turn it off. Its a crap alarm as well

if its a cobra alarm then if you disconnect the battery you have to isolate the siren using the small cobra key which you should have got with the car! the siren should be on the left or the right?? of the coolant fluid bottle just underneath it

hmmmmmmm that could be tricky? i doubt all the keys are the same? must have all been cut differently? did you buy the car privately? if so get in touch with them and see if they have a key? or check the glovebox or ash tray you never know it might be in there?

Stuff a dry tea towel in the siren if you don't have a key to de-activate the alarm. Surprisingly effective...

Does the alarm stop after 30 seconds or so? If so, a muffled alarm for a short period of time will do the trick until you stick the battery back in.
