View Full Version : How Good Are Devil Exhausts?

What are devil exhaust systems like on the 1.8 16v? do they give good gains? i cant seem to find much about them.
How loud are they when the centre section has no silencer?
I heard they used them on the rally cars or something? what is this about?

i use to have a devil system, when with decat it was to loud for me it was a straight through centre section aswell, couldnt tell u on gains never ran a std system so not sure, now have a scorpion system and its nice and quiet!

How much louder was it comparing it to a Scorpian system, as i used to use a Scorpian.
Did you notice a gain when you went from your Devil to Scorpian?

alot louder then the scorpion system mate!!! with the scorpion system it feels abit better to but maybe thats cus it was so loud i didnt wanna accel as hard lol :lol:

got one on mine at the moment, hmmm

the rear baffle rattles, alot, ive tried welding it about 5 times, still sounds like im dragging tin cans along!
and the centre section is holed from speed bumps,

but when it was all ok, and decated, it sounded amasing! mentaly loud! and poped away!

i have got a scorpion to put on, when i get the time!

I recentley put a Mongoose system on mine (not decatted) and it sounds really nice, not too loud or raspy just a nice deep throaty burble.

i can vouch for richy! im currently running a devil system with a magnex de cat and fook me its loud! been pulled twice by the old bill for it! will be getting a new system before xmas!

Its loud, f***ing loud, ive just bought a willy2 with a devil system on it including decat.... MY god travelling in 5th at 3-4k rpm is SO loud drowny and deafing, it takes getting used to mate... wouldnt travel for hours init!! otherwise i would be deaf. lol

Can't speak for an entire system but i had a decat, devil straight-through unsilenced centre section and magnex backbox...was very loud and i'd agree with the comments about going deaf! Gave a noticable power increase tho...more than a decat on a std system and more than a decatted BB stainless system anyway...

I've got a Devil System, now with de-cat, but I have left the standard centre silencer in place and have the straight thru pipe in my garage, it's just too loud with this on. Now it has a nice sound and the de-cat gives off a nice rasping noise... 8) One thing I have noticed is there isn't as much torque in the lower rev range with the de-cat in place, but 4k+ revs there is noticably more power!

Umm so the general consensus is rather loud! does it come under the track day db limit though?
Doesnt sound too loud Waitey, thats a devil system i take it? sounded nice and raspy.

Its a modified k-tec system with no silencers or baffles. On a sound test it was 107Db so quite loud!
