New inlet manifold going on, what gaskets etc do i need?

Inlet manifold gasket
5th injector gasket (?)
Throttlebody gasket (? reuseable ?)

Any help appriciated.

got the following part numbers for inlet and tb gaskets

7700 740 706 - tb gasket
7700 858 385 - inlet manifold gasket

do i need a 5th injector o-ring/gasket? anyone got the part numbers?

u dont need tb gasket.. use instant gasket on it.

can i just reuse the old one??? its only 2.66 for a new one anyway/... wot other gaskets etc do i need?

why go to all those lengths on building up a engine to skimp on a gasket.

do it right summeh - gaskets are there for a reason.

most engine builders now use silicone for the majority of the gaskets, it seals better and is easier to remove come disassembly.

cool, didnt know that... will pop to halfrauds tomorrow and get some instant gasket then for the 5th injector if needed.

spend a week perfecting porting your head, only to use silicon which will OOOOOZ out and may restrict the flow ??? doesnt sound good to me mate. and what happens if u miss a bit or have a airpocket ?

i'd use a gasket....imo

Spending extra money when gaskets may not be required, you aint livin upto your yorkshire roots here northy!!

Ben, do ya recommend any type of silicone stuff in particular??? would unibond multipurpose gasket seal surfice?

if you have a gasket, use it for ease if installation, i was only saying that using silicone is fine in itself.

But installing in situ is tight, and using silicone will make lifer harder.

i find that if u tighten the mating surfaces up tight enough, u dont need gaskets or silicone......... :lol: :shock:
