Assuming i want to get a head to be gasflowed it is safe to buy one from an engine where it has suffered a cambelt snap and has bent valves?

i.e. i take it is unlikely to have any damage to the casting and the damaged components will be cheap to replace?

Opinions/Thoughts appreciated!

Thanks

yeah will be fine. get it skimmed aswell.

just make sure the combustion chamber isnt pitted/damaged due to launched valves!

Ah, that sounds hopefuly then!

BenR over on CS reckon that there could be the possibilty of damage to the valve seats but i guess i should be ok as it's not a high performance engine (1.2)...however, apparently ALL valves are bent. Will these cost much to replace do you think?

the valves are about a fiver each from GSF car parts IIRC

just check there is no damage to seats/chamber. does a 1.4 energy not have bigger valves? worth looking at one of those heads if it will fit
