After some (much appreciated  ) words of wisdom, I've ordered the following from Renault...

Shocks (front and rear)
Wishbones (including ball joints)
Top mount kits
Track rods
Wheel bearings (front)
Anti-roll bar bushes (centre and end)

That lot came to £425, plus some springs I picked up for £40, so it had better be worth the improvements over my sloppy used stuff! Can't wait for Donington

Next on the list is an uprated dog bone and the other two engine mounts...when my bank balance has recovered

Nothing for the rear?

New shocks.

Apart from that, there's the bearings (that I'll be doing when they start making noises!). Anything else I can do?

Umm. Dunno. What bearing's you going to change?

Zollo

How many are there?! I was thinking about the hub bearings that comes with the discs.

Don't know the workings of the torsion bar beam, are there any in there? Sounds expensive if there is :?

He he. Took my old Williams for a drive yesterday and realised how much better it feels to my new one, handling wise, so thought I could do with sorting it out before the track day.

I don't think there are y'know. Common thing to fail on PSA and VAG cars but it seems that it doesn't occur on these. Maybe it's a different setup. Dialogys doesn't list anything.

Cool, that's a result then. If there's anything else that anyone knows of at the rear, let us know :)

Zollo, what number williams have you bought?

And why have you bought another a new williams, as I thought your old one was nice enough?

Good effort on the susp though!

I've bought another Williams 2 mate, so no number :( . I bought it because I'd seen it around before and always thought it was immaculate, so when it came up for sale I couldn't help myself!

I was going to do mine up, but it just worked out better to get the new one that had had all the work done already. My one is ok, and scrubs up nicely, but I wanted a perfect one, which would have meant spending a lot of money on it. I don't want to make it sound like a bad car, cos it's not, particular for the money I'd take for it!

 Transformed. And not by the £500+ worth of new suspension, but by £30 for a column weld.

Cheers Mr Bullcrusher :P

2 mintue job

After watching him do five of them now, I'd say more like 30 minutes from start to finish, with everything back together ready to drive. If you can do that in under two minutes, I'll give you 50 quid just for the hell of it!

P.S. 30 quid is the going rate that a lot of people have paid Jim to weld em. Haven't heard of anyone do it any cheaper. If fact, I haven't heard of anyone else that would even do it around here...
