im going to attempt to lower my torsion bar on my valver tomm and have brought some m10 thread rod to take it out with, thing is it does'nt seem to fit in the torsion bar hole. should i bang it in with a hammer a bit to get it to bite???
thanks for any help.

ive discovered banging anything on a clio with a hammer leads to loads of problems...if it doesnt fit - it doesnt fit for a reason

no hammer then, so the bar should just screw in then???

yup i have an m10 bar and it fits perfect, if u can get a small file or something like that and just lightly file the start of the thread on your torsion bar, then soak it with good old WD40 and it mite work

try cleaning the thread out before you start - if its like mine its going to have swelled up with rust.

just brought a tap and die set for £20, gonna just cut a new hole as mine seems to have swollen up with rust or something and the bar or bolt or slide hammer just wont go in.

i'd give up now jay, mine is seized in like a good one. its not going to be shifted and that was with clean threads on the torsion bar ends.

i redid mine 2day. piece of piss - BUT one side is higher than the other. i cant seem to get it right. the 16v is a solid axle, so i dont know how to get one side the same as the other, without the other one moving as well if u c! pain in the arse. its only about 6mm like but annoyin none the less!

i assume that the side that sits higher the bar on that side needs to come out and that hub raised abit?? this right??
