clearly it can run 1/4 miles, as the video proves. what is your point?

If you can beat it on the strip then you can call it - when you have just built a near 375 bhp car thats running at nearly double the hp it was designed to run at your gonna get teething problems you sill twat - until then shut the **** up and be content driving your 16 sec toss.

exacltly my thoughts, it is very easy to sit there and sl@g someone's work off. maybe your actually really funny and it's just come accross wrong? but as you hardly ever post here i guess it's impossible to tell...

Nah not really Lunner - just silly nob ends that cant understand the fact that when you stick a near 400hp Audi engine in a car it wasnt meant to go in .......your gonna get problems arent ya ?? if not everyone would be doing it and porsche would go bankrupt. Im still expecting problems this year - its like that with conversions. If people are gonna dog my car come do it to my face at a meet, dont do it hiding behind a PC.

What kind of legal red tape, compliance procedure and insurance declaration do you have to make to plonk another engine into a car? Just curious. Is it quite straight forward or a legal minefield?

this car is a work of art and totally flies.
bound to experience problems when a)using a different engine in a car its not meant to be in b)tuning it to nearly 400bhp!!! :shock:

Now with J & E pistons and Rods and a lightened and balanced crank with an HKS Intercooler, water injection & uprated oil pump ( the cause of all my problems )

I've not slagged your car off, i quite admire the work it takes to make such conversions, I was just making an observation that i've never seen it complete a run in real life, without something breaking.

Saw him working on it the other night actually, love that car, I was clearing out some old magazines to make moving easier and came across the shoot for retro, had to have a read 8)
Where does the clio live matt? I've seen your work 172 parked on a drive up feni a few times, is that your house?
Thats my mates house ( bmw scooby skyline ) the TT is hidden away - usually in a garage with the engine in bits ;)

Its back ( again ) ...........took it to santa pod for GTi international on sunday 2 april although ive barely done 25 miles on the new engine so its not even run in yet since the forged rods and pistons were fitted so the engine is very tight - turned the boost down as low as i could and didnt hit the rev limiter once - got a 12.9 even under those conditions !! ( 1.9 0 - 60 foot as well )
Its gettin mapped up on the 12th - dont wanna take it over 375bhp for the time being as the IHI VF34 struggles after that. The new bottom end is good for a proven 550 bhp ( not taking it that high as its dangerous ) so with NOS ( just ordered ) should see a good 425bhp
Full power will be available for York Easter weekend

I'd love something stupid fast like the clio - but as always the joys of having no money destroys the dream..
Christ i'm even struggling affording a half decent valver at the moment!
To be honest im not rich .... just stupid with money and obsessed with gettin a 10 sec quarter - it may take me a few years longer and a few more grand but i will get there ... eventually
Helps too I suppose when you know what your doing under a bonnet and have spare parts heaven in the next room...

UPDATE : 12.3 @ 122mph at redline rumble on Sunday - slowly getting there. Want to hit 11's before i fit NOS.
