following on from comments made weeks and weeks ago about making sure I make it, the rex is going to the specialist this weekend for some much needed attention to make sure she is fit to play on 9 Oct. for some reason, I seem to give cars too much of a pasting lol heavy right foot i guess. next car will be a nissan micra  anyway, i hope by sat afternoon 0062 will be trailing far behind some rather large flames. look forward to joining in on the track day action soon!!

ps - i'll let you know if the fuel pump goes in or not, possibly an extra 20bhp for £250, bargain really

good, good mate... i'll have a shiny new magnex tomorrow to help things along :) but it's probably going to smoke even more though :(

Mmm this does not sound healthy!! Well at least your plan for NO MODDING whatsoever has been followed religiously

and btw even in the wet you'd have to pull some moves out your ass to 'rape' the rex

what are the good and bad points of the rx7 do you think ?

i cant make my mind up what car to get next, and was thinking about an RX after a test drive last week......

In a RX7 or RX8? there is a big difference. If you are coming to Dony i'll happily take you for a few laps.

Good points: very fast; capable of massive power when modded; if looked after can be fairly reliable for what they are; great looks 8)

Bad points: poorly used (wrong fuel, no regular oil changes etc) will mean blown engine - min £2k job; high insurance group (although mine is not too much worse than 0062); if you are stoooopid enough to use it as a daily driver, you'll need a bank loan for the petrol *doh*

Also you should know that the engine will need renewing after about 60 - 75k anyway so if there is one going for a good price at that mileage you may well have a hefty bill coming your way :(

Really keen to find some space to get the opposite lock down whilst the rear end slides all over the place

Haha well we'll see what happens, I am quite looking forward to following some clio's around the track - 'the williams veiwing platform' heehee - should be able to get some good footage, none of this three wheel stuff around the corners for me

my mates got a rx7 and its as rapid beast....no way on earth will a williams keep with it.

and from what ive seen they are great round the corners....only down side is that moosy will have to refill every ten laps

Mine also has Tein suspension, so yeah, its ok around corners lol

I wish I could argue that second point, but I'd be lying to myself, and thats something i do far too often anyway. For example, buying a rex and driving to work will not be too expensive  I need a slap sometimes

I borrowed a mate of mine's RX7 Turbo Rag top.....nice car and quick...would have been a new model 88 or 89...getting old can't remember, however I got completely toasted by a Cossie on the dual carriageway.....as both cars were brand new they would have been standard......very smooth 8)

the late 80s RX7s were very different looking and had a lot less power as far as I can tell from reading about them. Never raced a cossie, but I've had an aston martin driver poo himself heehee  any mods to the 92 models upwards have huge gains in power, which is why they are so popular with Japanese folks. Mine has been very simply tuned and apparently pushes out 310 horses at the wheels 8)
