Guys,

I am thinking of designing and fabricating a aluminum sump guard (similar to the one on my Impreza) that will attach nicely to the underside of the car, using the two subframe rails and the front chassis member (where the radiator sits in).

Before I start modelling one up, does anyone know if this has been done before (it must of for the rallly cars) and if they are still available.

One major purpose to protect my sump but also it will provide a good seal to prevent all the road grime and crap from knacking up my clean engine bay!

Cheers

I could do with one. Had to Araldite mine at the w/e, and noticed that not only was it split front to back but had several gouges in it!

That must've been the corner cutting at Haynes. :P

:P

Bit bothered about this araldite TBH. It says a max temp of 70deg C. I'd have thought it would get hotter than that the sump.

The reason for this is that I am moving to live in Finalnd and need to prep the car for the gravel forest roads out there and the ice/snow conditions in winter. Hence the need for a more substantial underbody protection.

Thanks for the tip.
