ive got both of these on my car, the braking is pretty good but once they get hot ive got a problem

the feel totally changes, it feels like instead of a brake pad, there is a bag of fish tank gravel their instead

is this likely to be the discs or the pads

Have you changed the fluid recently? could be that

BRUN

no i havent, but it didnt do it with my TarOx / Ferodo combo

it probably does need changing though

i have that exact same setup and the pads are shite. They were okay at first, but once you do about 2-3k or normal driving they become spongy and there's a serious lack of feel... dunno if i didn't wear them in properly, but I dont rate them at all now. At first they were unreal tho...

I've had the fluid changed loads too... everytime I take my car to my guy he has all belts and fluids changed.

i run mintex m1144's on brembo max and i can say they are fantastic... until the std calipers get hot (after 3 or 4 BIG stops).

think they might be comin off then

probably get ferodo as they have always been the best ive tried

Ferodo rule.

FWIW though I might try the 1144s next time.

BTW I checked mine before it went to the bodyshop and after 12k miles, Ty Croes and Haynes, there's still over 50% left on them.

which are better for fast road ?

DS2000 or DS2500 ?

i wont be going on the track

I've been told there's virtually no difference on the road between them Brun, so I'd go 2500 again personally.

I've also heard the 3000 aren't significantly better than the 2500 to warrant having for track either.

I have the pagid fast road pads with the k-tec big brakes discs and have never noticed the feel you are going on about. mine actually work better when they have some heat in them.
I wore mine in by doing lots of hard stops from 60ish to 10 and they have been fine since.

I'm runnign the pagid's, pedal is spongy, but i'm putting that down to the shit brake fuild in there, part from lack of intial bite tehy are awesome pads, ran them on 3 track days now with no fade, and i've done atleast 10k road miles, and i'm not kind to my brakes.

This is running on std brembo pads btw

IS THIS THE RIGHT STANDARD DISC FROM GSF I THINK THEY ARE BREMBO

R60116 BRAKE DISC-VENTED 259mm CLIO 1.8 16V 21.70

AND PADS IS THIS RIGHT :?:

R64221A BRAKE PAD SET-PAG FAST RD CLIO GIRLING 28.00

Yup, discs are right, pads depends whether you have bendix or girling calipers

Ignore what I said about the pads Brun, it's actually the disks on mine that have not held up well. Both are pretty badly warped which according to the experts is because they are grooved... gone to solid vented and still on same Pagid pads (60-70% left on them) and it's much better now... still wank tho, so will be getting 4 pots asap

Lunner

Yup, i woudl defo go for std discs, grooved imo are a waste of time, although i'll get brembo max discs next time, just to compare

so Pagid pads do i get them or not it seems 50/50 at moment.. my head is up in the air some say they are very good some say there not.. :?

will this not be down to the fluid in system some may neglect to change this.

when or when i get the fronts done i will again change the fuild

BRUN

mine seem to have been fine the last week...

You don't need to change the fluid to change the padsa, althoguh if the pads have been properly changed, as in beleed nipple opened and let teh fuild come out there when you squeeze the piston back in you will prolly need to top the fuild up
