First of all does anyone know of a decent place in the N/W where i can get my O/S rear arch done, its pretty bad and needs cutting out, cant really be treated, ive had 2 quotes so far one will make you laugh

Grove autos £394.00!!!!!!!

Mellor road garage £200.00, but the guy who owns said the bodyshop guy wasn't in so it'll probably be lower than that as he aint that good at bodywork estimates.

and of all and errrrrmm  both places suggested getting a wide rear arch kit so they could mount that and cut out the arch far cheaper, does anyone knoe of any places where i could get such a kit (just the rear arches). I must stress that this option is a complet last resort but im weighing my options up at the mo.

Do remember sometimes that u get what u pay for with bodyshops...

On my old Williams I had both rear arches done with both sides resprayed, and the tailgate sprayed too and it cost me about £1200... that was for new rear arches to be welded on... Quality job it was too 8) That was in Essex.... place that does a lot of classic restoration work...

Bodylines of Stockport did mine but it wasn't too bad, and I wouldn't recommend them again anyway.

You might laugh but you could try Renault Manchester. This is where I've just taken mine for the crash damage. Seen their work on my colleagues Laguna and it's as good as any of the other work I've seen on members' cars.

They have their own bodyshop as well so it's not farmed out. Plus if they **** it up and it's not right they don't mind re-doing it as it just gets charged to Renault! :P

Yeah they said £500 for the arch + full respray, which is starting to aound very tempting with the quotes im getting.

or 200 for the arch + a rebuff? (not quite sure what they meant by this) :?

P.S love the avatar jon :D

phone em up and say the arch must be cut and smoothed it etc then sprayed. Or is that what you said to him? £500 either way is very good.

My arch is impossible to treat apparently and must be cut:

B&P bodywork specialists in stockport have seemed to be the best bet £250 to do the following and their work seems to be very very good.

Cut out affected arch area

Weld in panel

Fill out panel

Spray & Lacquer entire quarter panel

+ an optional £100 to do the entire door on the same side as there will be paint left over.

Seems to be a good deal.
