View Full Version : Which rear discs for my Hybrid?
As above
Thing is I cannot remember if my Hybrid has got abs or not
I recently bought some Brembo discs off of ebay and they dont fit, the discs slides too far on the shaft and hits the caliper before seating in position.

Dunno if ABS is on the rear anyway?
yes...abs is on the rear - one abs ring pressed onto the disk either side.
u can reuse your old abs ring though.
just get standard reno 1s m8, IIRC isnt the break ratio sumthin like 70/30 in favour of the front disks? dont c y u need anything uprated unless ur "racin" alot?
smokey, we've got them in stock
i'll get you a price if you want when i get home tonight??
with abs and bearings in mate.
I have got bearings so dont need them, I only fitted them to my Brembo's yesterday.
What do the abs rings look like?
Well mine dont have abs then as I didnt take any gear cogs off.
These discs I got were advertised as Renault Clio/R19 16v discs, im thinking they must be 19 discs which I have got then
to see if u have abs - where the battery is (to the right when standing at the passenger wheel) - look at the brake lines. mine has a large ABS computer and servo there.
also it will have abs sensors on your struts / hubs.
ABS discs will fit a non-ABS car, but not vice versa.
I'm running ABS discs on my non-ABS RSi, IIRC its teh wheel bearings that determine if they are for BAS, not the discs
I will go take some pics now.
Im certain mine dont have ABS as theres no sensors on the struts which have all just been replaced for GAZ coilovers.
Also there was no rings when I took the old discs off.
Now the discs I bought were non abs for clio/R19 16v so im confused
Btw, its been over a year since I have driven her and I have owned 5 cars in that time hence why I cannot remember if its got ABS or not.

So, back to my original question..............
Which ones? ATE as per Lunners post as it dont matter?
ATE n/a 104745140 BRAKE DISC REAR SOLID 238MM DIA 4 STUD -ABS RING
JURID n/a 104745240 BRAKE DISC REAR CLIO MEGANE 238MM 4 STUD
REMOVE AND REPLACE ABS RING
i've got a funny feeling you need the rear discs off a R5 GTT
What makes you say that fella?
238mm just seems to big to me, i dunno LOL!!
anyway, i'm doing a stock take on sunday, so i'll let you know measurements etc etc
I would say the rar section is too big, width ways.
239mm sounds far too big for a rear disc, my fronts are that size, and they are bigger then the rears, i would guess rears are around 170ish
I went and bought some more from PartCo today, 1994 1.8 16v Non ABS Rear discs please.
Same bloody problem arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Bttt as im going to buy another set of discs after work.
3rd time lucky hopefully
see what your saying now mate - defo no abs there.
my rear disks are differant to your pictured one aswell.

on the right disk u can see a space for the abs ring to be pressed over.
So the wheel bearing on a car wiht ABS has a smaller OD?
Well, went into partco today and he has ordered me the ABS ones in that I collect wednesday.
Looking at Northy's I think its the extra depth the abs ring gives that I need.
Do you think its thin enougth to miss the caliper mate?
My car seems to be a True Hybrid, Its a late 1994 where they changed so its a mixture of Ph1 & 2 bits.
I had this with something else but I cannot remember now what it was. :?
Fingers crossed the ABS ones work
So the wheel bearing on a car wiht ABS has a smaller OD?
Shit, I hope that dont mean I need to buy more bearings, I only bought 2 last week grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Well, I have now had 4 sets of discs and none of them fit the rear axle grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...............................
Im stuck for ideas apart from changing the whole Torsion bar with everything attached
u need to find out what the torsion bar is mate,
if u dont have your old disks anymore - go to the scrappers and find a set that fit (cheaper than buying new) and you should be in buisness.
Heres a pic of the Hub mate, see if this helps.
Its fooking annoying thou
