After finishing the restoration of #180 this summmer and on completion, everything working well, despite taking the car completely apart..... I was pretty pleased with myself.
However after using the car recently with the Autumn temperatures dropping, I noticed that the heater was not working at all.

After checking out the coolant hoses I noticed that the hose going to the lower heater inlet was cold.
I re bled the system, but couldnt get any heat into the hose.

I contacted Northy & Matt Brown to see if they could suggest anything and Matt did suggest that the hoses could be on the wrong way round. There are two hoses that can be connected to the heater inlet and as it turned out I had fitted them the wrong way around.

The hose that comes off the thermostat housing is the one that goes onto the lower heater inlet and the hose that comes off the oil cooler return pipe at the back of the engine is the one that connects to the front expansion tank inlet.

After switching over the hoses, I had a nice toasty heater........what a tool I was though making a school boy error like this.
Probably the only thing that I didnt take a photo of when I took the car apart 🙄.

I have added a very basic image below showing the relevant connections
