Hi Chaps

Just doing the finishing touches. I thought I'd have all the front end bushes changed for Powerflex as its a bit 'knocky' over bumps (compared to my A6 anyway!!).

Couple of questions:

1. Are they really worth it? I've been quoted £202.56 inc vat for the complete front end including the engine mount.
2. £320 inc vat to fit seems to be a lot! They say a morning's work.

Is it really necessary or are the GSF ones just as good?

Cheers

Ben

Good question,

im thinking of fitting powerflex black to my williams...so it has the OE look, but a tighter newer feel upfront

Well, they’ve certainly gone up in price since I bought a set six years ago for £90…
Where I bought mine, JD Motorsport, now have an Amazon shop and just had a look at their prices, with free postage:

POWERFLEX BUSH KITS:

Front Lower Wishbones (4no) - PFF60-301 - £100.56

Anti-Roll Bar Bushes (Inner) (2no) – PFF60-202-23 - £27.60 / £30.30

Anti-Roll Bar Bushes (Outer) (2no) – PFF60-207-23 - £27.60 / £30.30

As regards fitting, I had everything dismantled for powdercoating anyway. I did find getting the old bushes out of the lower wishbones quite difficult.

Unless you get under the car, you're not going to notice the colour, especially after you've got some mud on them...

Thanks Sean

I think that given the prices I will see what the MOT comes up with - spent enough for now!

when i fitted them they weren't perfect, so i went back to them with some modifications that were needed.

I never welded the carrier in - but others have to stop them moving.

I just ran the ARB purple ones and fitted new R19 wishbones. It tightened the steering. Knocking can also be the dogbone mount or the top hats on the struts.
