Thanks for the reply Owen. Yes I saw this but did want to pay the 100+ asking price. I managed to get a second hand one from a breaker in Scotland for 25 quid

cheers

How you getting on with the car pal?

Hi northy

Much better now. After the mot failure I took the car to Mark Fish Motorsport in Harlow. The guy really knows his clios. He adjusted the cams put a 172 cat on it and I passed the emissions. Still failed the mot on the offside sill which they welded up. Anyway 3k later the car has had a full service, gearbox leak sorted, and idles at 1k revs from cold. Oh yes and they found that the rear axle was bent so put another on with new dampers. The car has cost me 6k all in with is a lesson learnt. Readers always go for the most expensive car you can rather than do it like me the cheapest car and then spend a fortune on them.

jobs still to do include full inspection of floor and wax oil and of course rear arches which are just beginning to bubble.

however duf is truly saved and while will never me a show queen is a real drivers car with the 172 front end. If I'm brave later in life I my put the gunner chip and retime the cams:evil:

How did they get a 172 cat to fit?

Northy I think it had to be cut and flanges welded on.

I have a Prowler (I think that's what they call it 4 into 2 in 1)exhaust manifold which have horizontal flanges. The cat I presume had to be welded to horizontal flanges either side. I then have a straight pipe going into a standard back box.

Can you please give me the number of that breaker?
Or can you tell me where I can look for a second hand TPS for a 16 valver (and also other parts)
Part for a 1.8 16v or a Williams are very rare in my country :(

Thanks
