There are a few on ebay mate, to get a basis from (also the same a a megane 2.0ltr).

Id say anything from £400 - £600 complete.

to be fair the price Infinicar charge for an engine is a little on the steep side. I payed £700 for a 24k engine fitted and all belts and fluids changed. this was only the bottom end, however that's really all your paying for anyway.

Basically these go for what some is prepared to pay. Many say they want to stick a 2.0 engine in their lesser engined car, but a lot will never do due to the costs involved in changing all ancillaries and work to swap engines over. You can probably plug and play but then, essentially, you are putting a major component in your car with none or dubious history, which could result in failure a few miles down the road so it is prudent (and cheaper) to check all bits whilst engine is out.

A minority have inflated the cost of these engines by playing on the need and charging a certain amount. This has been falling to probably the 500 quid mark. Just check ebay out and they have been going for 200 or 350 quid and from those that specialise in selling these at higher cost.

If you don't know how much to ask for it, then stick on ebay and find out what people are prepared to pay. Its mad how competitive ebay is. Someone will outbid you if you have done that to them, rather than seek alternative cheaper items. Through the nature of auctions, ebay will give you best market and perhaps best price, but sting you for part of fee.

Tip is to not put a reserve on so your ad cost is less, start low as that will encourage people to bid and put a disclaimer on that item is advertised elsewhere so can be removed from sale at any time. This gives you an option to sell via forums or even if someone makes you an offer via ebay to end auction early and is legit. So many people do it.

Otherwise, cost is down to how badly someone wants the item, for example if someone has just bust theirs they are in more desperate need and will pay more, compared to someone like me who will buy to upgrade and can do when price is right.

Megane engines are also going cheaper than a Williams and as a lot of people have cottoned on to this, they are now becoming preffered option for many who just want the bottom end or will mod like Stan has to fit in a clio.
