Hi WilliamsClio crew,

Oh how I maybe outcast from this community for asking tis question - but did any Clio Williams come with air conditioning?

I know, I know it adds weight an I not very 'race' of me - but thought I would ask.

...

To hopefully save myself from being outcast, here is my Elise that my son and I rebuilt together and my wife (last year - on mothers day ! ) helped me put the engine back in.

This is at the Mallala track in South Australia - I asked for rce no. 27 (as my son was born n he 27th May) but they gave me 37 /tears

Still looking for a Williams 1 btw...

Hi Winno,

Nope, no Clio Williams came with A/C

Guessing you do need it over there in AUS!

Yeah S1 Elises don't have it, and some days I cook on behalf of driving purity.

Bugger. May have to go E46 2006 M3. Love the s52b32 and that chassis.

Turd wingles....

There were certainly 1.8 16v's that came with AC as an option but they were only in Europe as far as I've seen and with them being virtually identical to a williams it's not beyond the realms of possibilities of a european williams to have it.
There's a guy on here in Singapore that has got it in his williams but I believe it's an aftermarket thing that's been fitted

No AC on UK williams, would there be space in the engine bay for an AC compressor and piping? Looks tight enough as it is !

Hi Northy. Can you tell me more about it? Did it hang off the engine or was it a electronic condenser?

Any help with information would be appreciated.

Is there any chance you can pass on 'Purples' email via PM ? As Singapore is on the 'quick bus-trip back home' (metaphorically speaking) and I might go home via Singapore, rather than Dubai, on an upcoming visit to the matrimonial bed.

Cheers

if I am honest with you i think he had to break the car due to the fee's involved in keeping it registered / taxed in Singapore.

It was a custom set up from memory that he had.

Yeah, think the site changes the links address after a while to prevent direct linking. Just go the the main page http://gallery.clubsnap.com (http://gallery.clubsnap.com/) and browse under Portraits and Poses.

Aircon was installed by the local agent here. It's a fairly standard aircon job. The aircon compressor runs off the aux belt, just above the alternator. The aircon radiator fin sits right in front of the water radiator (with the scuttle removed). The plumbing runs into the car and makes use of the heater fan to blow cool air into the car.

I was never quite happy with it, as it makes an already packed engine bay even tighter, it's not powerful enough to cool properly under the hot afternoon sun and I lose running power. In fact, I don't use the aircon 90% of the time. I wouldn't recommended it, especially for the short uk summers - I think that's silly.

Search 'aircon'

there is a member called 'fasterthanjesus (http://williamsclio.co.uk/forum/member.php?778-fasterthanjesus)' that has a UK exported williams 3 in Aus. So might be worth looking him up.
