My williams 3 had a few is getting a waxoyling to prevent and stop any rust at the moment
What's amazing is its all surface corrosion, peel off a paper sticker and its rust free underneath

Ive always wanted a clio williams then a mate said to Me last month that his friend
had 1 on his drive well apart from the sills sitting on the floor and wheels oxidised to hell it was all there
and not abused so we towed it home with the biggest smile on my face that was till I got the sills off and seen that the inner sill had gone to rust heaven lol but getting there with it all the rot was cut out and replaced ready to refit new sills but thats where I need a little help
as the rust taken some of the inner rear arch and I was after trying to find out the measurement from the inside torsion bar to the outside edge of the sill detail line just to get the correct flare will get some pics posted

Hi there,
Hopefully the measurements that I took before I started ripping my car to pieces will help you. The measurements below were taken from the NS sill, but you can just reverse for the OS. The measurements were taken from an original unmodified sill.

The image below shows where I took the measuremets from.
http://i723.photobucket.com/albums/ww234/philw135/Clio%20180%20Refurb%202014-10/4701E43D-5ECC-414C-8DBA-2AFFAD57061B_1.jpg

The following are the actual measurements
http://i723.photobucket.com/albums/ww234/philw135/Clio%20180%20Refurb%202014-10/D1A5784A-D458-4F21-9F77-DE9E1C06B801_1.jpg

These should be useful to you as they show the increments of the rear sill flare

That's a really big help as there has been a bit of a bodge and needed to get the right flare did you use the
standard sills and work on them I'm also after this measurement http://williamsclio.co.uk/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=7415&stc=1 from the shock bolt to the detail line at the top of the sill cheers

I'll have a look tonight for you and report back.
I used a brand new Genuine Williams OS rear 1/4 (very lucky to get hold of)
I Repaired the NS sill which needed a minimal repair so was able to keep the flair detail no problem.

Hello :) All 3's rust, more than others I hear. Nothing that cannot be sorted though, and they are a very rare breed of Williams :)

Although the site has gotten quieter over the years, there is a vast array of info here still specifically for the Williams.

My car is so non-standard now that I use many forums to get info, personally. But here is where you need to start :)

As for the issue and info you need, I would look at getting hold of a rear quarter from a scrapper 16v as OEM ones are now completely sold out. I think I had the last one from France. You can use the standard sills and modify them to fit, the part is cheap.

A good bodyshop with experience can so them properly.

HI,

The williams /16v sills are the same length. Just the rear part flairs out slightly I think

I have checked the measurement that you were after, although my car does not currently have rear shocks installed so I have measured from the bodywork just below the bolt to the outer point that you requested and its 27cm.

The poverty spec pattern sills are longer than the Williams/16v ones so they will need to be shortened and as previously detailed the Williams ones are deeper and flare out at the back, so need quite a bit of modification work to make them match - good luck with the project.
