Guys,

Assistance required please.

Recently while driving particularly when changing gear I lose all power and the car dies on me?!

The first time it happened the rev counted dropped suddenly the warnings hazard's flickered i'm sure it even changed the radio channel over..... LOL - Radio 1 to Radio 4!

The car starts straight back up again with no problem and drives fine again, this has happened twice on both trips out.

A mechanic friend is is coming round Weds to take a look, will he be able to run a diagnostics check given the age of the car? Does the Williams have a port to run a check to find the fault?

Cheers in advance.

P.s ....I changed the battery out 2 weeks ago, not sure if this if of any relevance?!

I'd suggest looking at the earth strap that goes from the gearbox to the chassis, the bolt bay be loose and causing an intermittent earthling failure. It seems to tie in with the failure occurring changing gear?

Mechanics had a look and thinks the same Earth strap from gearbox to chassis! Does anyone know where I can get a replacement? Pretty sure Renault won't do them any more fore these cars
Cheers

There are many replacement earth straps available, just make sure its long enough and big enough to do the job. I can't find the part number for the OE part.

Cheers Paul, My mechanic friend is on it. Hopefully thats the fault fixed soon.

I just had a decent run in it this evening with no issues, suspect its due to him fiddling with it early lol.
