What's the easiest way to tell what type of engine it is?

Yeh block should have f7r on it and i think there's webs on the casing the 16v doesn't have

Are you referring to the 16v that's on eBay with the apparent Williams engine?

Yeah that's it, it used to be mine and I'm sure it wasn't a Williams engine. Plus has been sat there for 4 years and was a bag of Shit in the first place

haha. Yes it's appears to have a 16v dipstick but a Williams manifold. Guess the only way to find out is to take a look at the engine plate.

Pulling out no.1 spark plug, putting a long stick in the hole, turning the engine over by hand & measuring the stroke will show beyond any shadow of a doubt what engine it is.

Starter motor can give an indication as to what it is but it's not conclusive as the williams starter can also be fitted to the 1.8 block but the valver starter doesn't fit the willy block

ID plate is at the bottom of the dipstick tube

and the last indicator is these 2 ribs on the back of the block behind the starter motor, only the F7R has these

F7P xxxx there's a few different codes depending on year or if it's from an R19

The stick in the hole measurement for a willy engine is 93mm :winkey:

Had a look at this tonight and it has F7P on it.
is there anything worth having off it that may be useful to keep as spares or sell (hard to get hold of)

Pretty much everything attached to the engine is worth keeping, the only things that aren't identical to the R is the sump, exhaust manifold & dipstick

Keep everything that's in good condition

A lot of stuff is now NLA from Renault so it's worth holding onto stuff more than ever now

Well I've only got limited room so can't have too much stuff, what would you say is the main stuff?
