I am in the process of sorting some niggly little jobs on my Williams 1.

One of the issues is that the adjuster dial for the headlights doesn't function properly, as in it doesn't move the headlight beam up and down.

Although the adjuster dial rotates there is no resistance at all.

Is this an easy fix and can anyone help me resolve this please?

Thanks

is it all connected? u should have two cables going from the back of the dial/switch through the bulkhead to each headlamp, they are a bugger to connect to the headlight iirc..

let us know what you find

Cheers. I'll have a look.

Are these cables prone to coming off? I never had a problem with my 1.4 RT back in the day :winkey:

Just been and done some proper testing on this issue now.

It would appear that it is all connected up and if I turn the adjuster knob with a bit of pressure it moves the beam.

However it doesn't seem happy to stay in the unloaded '0' position with the beam raised and the knob slowly unwinds itself.

Can anyone shed some light please on how I can sort this out?

As above the beam does wind and move the headlamp beam but doesn't stay in the 'raised' position and rotates back to 0.

the adjusters are hydraulic from what I know of. You might have a small leak.

Again I don't think they are serviceable but I would look to source a working second hand set from the breakers (Mat Brown)

Thanks Northy.

Is that the entire system of pipes etc?

Are they easy enough to replace?
