What are we using to remove original hose clips to avoid hose damage?
Cheers.

If you get some pliers sometimes you can get them to release by squeezing the clip together.
If not....Squeezing them from the side and twisting hard seems to work OK, this will knacker the clips though.
Wire cutters are another option, cutting across the metal bands will also work.
Hope the engine work is going well.

dead easy, take the jaw lock off the pliers, clip the clamp part of the pliers over the hose and then squeese the trigger till it opens the clamp.

best tool ive bought for a long time.

Having just watched a video on how to use these things they are the wrong thing for the clip I'm trying to remove. Didn't realise it's the squeeze type that come of with pliers. The ones I need to remove are jubilee looking but without the screwing point

oh right - in that case you can slide a real small flat blade screwdriver into the clip and lever up each tab which should loosen the clips lock / hold.
