Hi Frimley,
Which one are you looking to remove?
The one at the front controls the Oil pressure light and the one at the rear controls the oil pressure guage.

It's doable if you remove the front slam panel as it will then allow you to move the radiator forwards far enough to get in there

I have realised that you mean remove the bumper and then slam panel! I looked underneath but there's no access. What an utter PITA

Removing the bumper is pointless & wont be of any help as the big cross member it sits on is right behind it :lol:

Ok, so I'll remove the slam panel and then come back here and ask another question :winkey:

I'll ask it for you :-P

Q: How the hell do you fit your hands in there & keep all the skin on your knuckles?
A: You don't :lol:

All the slam panel really does is to hold the radiator in place, remove it & you can pull the rad forward enough to get in there. The alternative is to remove the rad but to do that the slam panel has to come off & you'll still have to squeeze your hands even further down into that cramped space just to get the bottom hose off

Just to back up what Paddy is saying with some images;

Here is my slam panel removed and the radiator canted forward;

You can then have access to the cooling fan, remove the motor wires and withdraw upwards

You will then have access to the oil pressure switch which is to the left of the oil filter in the image below, please note this image is with the radiator removed, you dont need to do

I hope that this helps.

youve done well to be able to unscrew that radiator fan from the back of the rad. Normally the fixings snap off at the first sign of a spanner.

It must have been the only thing that I have been lucky with so far, everything else seem's to have snapped, sheared and rounded;-)

Ok slam panel off easily enough apart from breaking a socket in the process! So I now have to undo the fan to give me even the slightest chance to do this.

How the hell do you service (oil change) a CW? Surely you don't have to do this to change the oil filter every time?
