Anyone using one?

Had a quick gander on the web and found this one which has an impressive battery life and not too pricey:

I've been looking at them, TRACKER do 2 types, a radio one and a radio and GPS one.

Costs around £300 and £500 to supply and install each type with a lifetime subscription around £300 and £400.

A GPS only one won't work if the car is in a building, under dense trees, underground carpark, container etc

The sat reception is like a mobile phone as such?
I was thinking about buying a smart phone and leaving it in the car, as they can be tracked also but the batteries don' really last long on the things.
The geofencing perimeter setup on this itrack would alert you if the object it's attached to moves out of your designated parking spot which is quite cool.

Is the radio one wifi or actual digital/analogue waves?
