If you have a gearbox with no tag and no reg as from scrappy, but has the renault marks on it. are there any numbers stamped to show what its is ie, jc5 or jb1 type of box. i can only find casing part numbers 10 digits starting 77, any help, cheers

The 10 digits on the bottom will probably be the part number for the box itself, for a JC5014 box it'll be 77 01 671 814 & a service exchange item JC5S09 will be 77 01 352 174

Excellent, now what about solving the box number i have that did fit my car 7700599332 and needs repaired no other info no reg where it came or tags. cheers

Quick google says that box is a 1999 megane 1.9 turbo diesel gearbox.
