Hi all,

I'm to the point where I'm ready to take the engine out, but for the loom. I read somewhere in one of the guides that you don't need to remove it... I've looked at it and it does need to be disconnected somewhere, so to my question... Where do I disconnect it? Any wisdom would be greatly appreciated, I want it out tomorrow if I'm going to get it ready for FCS!

Cheers,

Damo

You need to disconnect the big brown plug and the big white plug from the relay box, unbolt all the earths to the body/chassis and remove the ecu from it's cubbyhole, take the MAP sensor off it's little mount, unplug the wires to the rad & fan & the whole loom will come out along with the engine :winkey:

Quality, thanks. Are there any pics of where these bits are so I get it right?

You'll also need to remove the gearbox earth strap, on the left of the pic, goes from the body to the box

All disconnected... But where the main bundle comes out of the map/ecu 2 wires go into the bulkhead... Guessing I can't just cut them... Any thoughts?

Cheers, Damo

 Don't cut them!!

Have you got a pic of the wires you mean? Just trace them back & they'll be some sort of plug on them somewhere

Played with it and it looks like the Orange cables have connectors in the shrowding. Going to have a proper look when the light improves tomorrow.
