Does any one know about Removing / Replacing / Capping off or Mini Filtering The EGR Valve?

Does any of these work for better Horse Power?

Or will it be the same only a bit lighter if you take it off?

Any info would be great.

Thanks

I must admit I looked up EGR and I can see that they are used on Turbos and Diesel Car's.

EGR canister purge valve is a solenoid controlled by the ECU?

I been told this Canister under the wheel arch on the drivers side is a Carbon filter, there is two vacuum pipes that go to it. One of them is from the throttle body. The Canister is bolted to a lump of steel in the drivers side wheel arch next to the car horns.

Its strange as the bracket that holds the Canister (I think is the Carbon Filter?) The Canister is screwed into this Lump of steel for quite what purpose I don't know.

Any Ideas?

That's the carbon cannister, it's basically a filter for fuel vapour from the tank

Ya I found it in the end in the Haynes Renault info book, the Lump of steel, what is all that about. Is it a support or a safety feature?

Its only on one side of the Car.
