Hi all,

Been having probs with my Williams 2 for ages now. Starts first time on a cold start but then revs drop and she cuts out so I've had her off the road for well over a year now. I had the TPS changed (i think I bought this off Northy) and there was an improvement for a few months but then it went back to cutting out. Had a mechanic from work look at it and his thoughts are that its not getting enough cold air in take hence it cutting out only when its warmed up. We replaced the whole throttle body (which included another TPS) last week hoping this would finally fix it but although it seemed to hold its revs for a bit longer, again cut out after about 2 minutes. Mechanic is now thinking that it might be just the sensor that requires adjusting but how do we do this? Is there a wrong way which could damage it?

Any advice would be appreciated?

PS, mechanic is a friend from my work who has been looking/working on it for free so he has no agenda other than to assist me. He is very experienced with cars but admits not to being a Renault specialist.

since you've tried a few.. id rule the TPS out(for a while at least).. what is your air intake setup? first step would be to look at/clean the idle control valve i guess...

As above, smacks of idle control valve issue. They tend to get ' lazy' if left stood.
