I believe the Williams 3 has a black triple skinned subframe, not too sure on layout though mate I'm sure someone will be along with a definitive answer.

Willy subframes are all of the thicker triple skin variety, valver subframes aren't.
Valver subframe will fit, it's just how much of a stickler you are for OE-ness
is there a reason for williams subframes to be thicker

id take a stab at everything else is bigger and stiffer than a valver o.e. setup.. so the subframe would twist if it wasnt adapted.. also the williams was made so renault could enter rallies of a certain spec.. homologen or a simular word is used when this produced.. correct me if im wrong someone.. :-) so would need to bigger a bit beefier!!

Homologation you mean Vandella. I've bought a spare subframe and will be shot blasting and powder coating it in due course. I'm of the opinion it's triple skinned for a reason. Any reason you need to change it mate? Can't you just remove and refurb, or have you crashed and bent yours or something?
changing it because there is a couple of rust hole coming, and not to sure if i welded them would it pass mot

Hmmm not too sure mate, plus welding something triple skinned might be fun! I might have a spare in the future but the subframes right at the bottom of my project list at the minute. Check out the cars for breaking section, I picked one up for £50 in good nick that will shot blast and paint up like new. Sadly for the Williams there's always a car needing a lot of work that's effectively a write off as its worth more in bits and get broken.
Just noticed your in Swansea, I've bought bits off a lad in Swansea hold on let me find his name.

Gavlar 88 but not been online a while.
I may have a Williams frame kicking about spare soon but it'll be collection only and I need to confirm its the triple skinned type
imo its a waste of time and just adds weight, and only a small section of each side is triple skinned, the valver ones are built like brick shit houses anyway, there no way it'd bend under 'normal' use (read anything but competitive rallying)
any idea's on a price of new one is :???: as a last resort if i cant get a good s/h one
