Hi,

I'm a 'modern classic' car enthusiast and I am looking at purchasing a clio williams as my next daily driver/rolling project. Won't be able to get one until late summer as my insurance isn't due till November and I need my no claims to be able to afford the insurance. Being a student I started off with a cheaper classic and am now ready for a bit more power and the luxury of a 5th gear. I am used to limited number exclusive cars and that is why I would like a Williams (also because it looks great). 8)

I'm currently driving a blue 1.3GS Austin Metro of which there are only 19 left on the road and I am a member of the Metro Owners Club. This will then be used as just a show/second car.

Thanks for Looking http://williamsclio.co.uk/forum/images/icons/icon10.png

You don't need no claims to get cheap insurance. We're paying just over £100 including breakdown on our classic policy with Peter Best. It's limited miles, but then I wouldn't want to use a Williams everyday as it will rust/fall to bits.

Thanks for the warm welcome :-D

Here is a few pictures of my metro (taken from the car of the month Nov/Dec article on the metro owners club) as requested:

Unfortunately i can't get classic insurance until my next birthday been only 20 at the moment, although I'm only a couple of months of 21. I only do about 8000 miles a year so I think a Williams would make a cool daily driver.

Thanks,

I bought those rare 13" Metro Turbo cross spoke alloys for £200 and had the original radio recommissioned at the cost of £50 for shows.

other than that I have only changed the usual service parts as it only has 36000 miles on the clock and I'm the 2nd owner. Its got full service history (had a service after every 3000 miles), so its been well looked after. Still has great performance, I can out drive most modern cars, especially from the lights and around bends as the grip is fantastic.

I've got a quote to have it waxoyled and some slight rust bubbles on various panels (you can only see them when a couple of inches from the car) along with a bad patch on the passenger door fixed and repainted for £600 - thats going to be done at some point.
