BJV Engineering? They look remarkably cheap for a proper Diamond cut rim.

Yes I have used this company a few times but not recently, it used to be run by a cantankerous old guy called Mr Vallack.

He did do a good job, so along with the fact he did proper diamond cutting on a lathe made him worth using and at the time I used him he was pretty cheap.

The company is now run by younger members of the family who are far more customer focused.

If you want them to do the proper Williams colour you will need to supply the paint code or preferably the paint.

Only other issue is if you want to visit them they are stuck out in the middle of nowhere down a country lane near Flaunden, Herts.

Regards Ian

If you could share that Paddy that would be ace as I am only an hour from Brum and a lad in the office lives in the West Mids so logistically that could work for me. My wheels have been refurbed, but without the silver lip (peasants!) and I also think they're the wrong colour. To be a cheapskate as I am already £2k + into the resporation I am going to get my Dremmel round the lip and see if I can create a Diamond Turned effect, but if I screw it up I will get them sorted properly.

I'm turning DIY with the Dremmel first to see if I can do it! I made one enquiry and they came back saying they could do the lip, but would I want it lacquered or not? They recommended just leaving it polished no lacquer, so I am going to see if I can do it myself when I get the car back. I will post pics either bragging or mortally embarrased!

guy from place paddy recommended says he does it with an angle grinder anyway and cant coat it with paint already on as he's a powdercoater, not a painter

so I think I'm going to do them myself and then get the bodyshop I used to paint the wheels to re lacquer them hopefully

oh and I did it last time ( recutting damaged ones, not from scratch) by mounting wheel with no tyre on car (with both front wheels off the ground obviously) and holding a block against the rim with sandpaper on it whilst leaving car in 1st to spin the wheel

worked quite well

Well the polished lip is only leaving the original alloy unpainted but diamond turned. So my theory is I need to gently remove the powder coat/paint until I expose the alloy. I can then get finer with the wet/dry grade to achieve the desired result. I'll pop to the local tyre place get them to brake me the bead.

as I say once I get the car back I'll do a bit of a guide (f*#k up or otherwise) so others can either try it or not bother!
