3 clios were they all 16v ?

thanks Williams-Jr the black is the metallic was an extra when it was bought new ..not standard black

had a naples 16v for 2 1/2 yrs high miler 88k but had a power drop problem could not solve it...spent loads on it to try to sort it... swaped it for this black one just after the 172 was coming out

also i have not used it mutch i have still had arches done.. i was surprised.. i did wax oil the tailgate when i first got it i should of done the arches also .. reno never paint underneath.. but when they went it was just after the 8 yr warrenty

Scott-16v!
09-09-2005, 00:26
^^there on a timer, the rust bubbles through a month after the warranty expires  :x

mon
09-09-2005, 00:33
yea your right and MINE IS GARAGED is used in winter and all that but crist

tail gate would of gone if i did not treat it the naples one i had whet on the rear wiper around the mounting hole (big job)

any one who has the arches done should wax oil them inside loads this should solve this due to reno expect dirt to sheld from rain they like to save on paint the inner wings on the 5 were grey ( the standard coulor you get the wing no paint) i wax oiled them and THEY NEVER RUSTED even when i sold it

my left one need doin, can't afford it yet though :(

mon
09-09-2005, 00:49
if that is the case get it out treat it with a rust remady may look crap but less labour when you can aford to get it done right..

best going into winter like that than coming out of winter with no arch

Scott-16v!
09-09-2005, 00:53
yup will do, will probably be done mid october though hopefully :-s [-o<

mon
09-09-2005, 00:58
do not put it right on top get the loose rust out first.. mine went on the lips of the arch so it was not that bad so i could sand it a bit

Scott-16v!
09-09-2005, 01:00
yer mines only on the lip, theres not loadsa just wanna stop it before it goes too far :)

mon
09-09-2005, 01:12
jet the arch inside if you can get all the crap off wax oil that then were the rust is on the lip take all loose rust off sand it back and put the rust killer on .. the locktite stuff is good about £5 it goes purple if it hit the rust.

it will last winter... used this on the 5 turbo rear window edge (which holds the window) and it never advanced..

i think on the arches the rust comes from inside out due to the arches not painted inside ! i mean mine do not have alot on crap on them if i new this when i got it i would of treated them
