View Full Version : F7ra700 turbo
What's the most horse power achievable? Are they capable of say 450 or 500 hp?

depends how deep your pockets are, anything is possible with enough money
there was one in a seat Ibiza wasn't there that did 650bhp iirc? no idea how long it lasted or if it even ever ran
Rob on RTOC runs 520 out his F7P turbo as well
What would you need to do for that sort of power? Forged rods and pistons, bigger turbo and injectors.would it be possible with a custom ecu map or would you need a seperate ecu?
forged everything, headwork/turbo cams, better valves, stand alone ecu, massive turbo, huge injectors and some big bollocks. not to mention a bank account with either loads of cash in or a big ass overdraft ;)
Whats the most hp from skimmed pistons with t28 turbo, r21 injectors and fast chips chip?
no idea, the highest rated chip still kicking about is the 15psi one, that's what I run with the wossener pistons and R21 injectors and put out 285bhp highest few years back
that's on a P though, not an R block

speak to Max_Torque on Piston heads... his Seat is ****ing crazy.
was telling me he had to get really creative with valve sizes and plenum /runner length
His SEAT is incredible, but he is a professional in his field, working on some serious shit I believe?
To do that, obviously you need boost. There are some using cossie engines in Mk1 shells making 500+ though as well...and the Audi engine conversion could do it, possibly.
Personally, I run 210-220 bhp in a fairly light Mk1 Willy and I am fairly happy. Sure, there are days when I think more might be better, and who knows, one day I may go that route with a completely different engine, but for now I have hoots of lol blowing the total shit out of most modern cars as it is...and I can lose traction easy even with a Gripper LSD and super grippy tyres.
Only times I have problems with ANY car I've been against is in a straight line vs massive boosted car. NOTHING keeps up in the bends with the Willy, and it feels defo faster and easier in the bends than my M5, which has twice the HP.
