Only 45 miles, about the same distance to Matbrowns house of Clio death

It's dumped in a garage until the end of January as I'm busy with work and trying to get the track car finished

Been tucked away in a garage for 3 years but finally getting moved to my new workshop for the work to begin

Stripping it down ready to send it off to have the arch replaced and a full respray in January

give us some updates on the trackcar pal

Wont be any until the Williams has gone off for paint unfortunately, got a mega tight deadline to get the Williams ready to go for paint 2nd week of january & almost zero free time to do it so got to make sacrifices :-(

It's got the dreaded tin worm so respray is a neccessary evil unfortunately

Work has started in earnest & progressing well

Stripped down to a bare-ish car, all glass, trim & rubbers off to help keep the paint job a sensible price

http://williamsclio.co.uk/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=8223&stc=1

Engine out, stripped bare and organised into boxes, ready to go off for rebuilding

http://williamsclio.co.uk/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=8224&stc=1
http://williamsclio.co.uk/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=8225&stc=1
http://williamsclio.co.uk/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=8226&stc=1

This is the reason it's getting a full rebuild

http://williamsclio.co.uk/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=8227&stc=1

Got a brand spanking new cylinder head ready to fit but it would be a waste to fit that & not completely refresh the bottom end as well so that's what's happening

Soda blasted, painted then fully rebuilt bottom end ready to go 8)

The demise of photobucket means an update is needed

Complete engine in the boot off to be soda blasted & painted

The result of soda blast & fresh paint along with complete bottom end rebuild. Bores were pretty much immaculate so only required honing & standard size piston rings to be fitted. Same for the crank, new standard size ACL racing main bearings & big end shells along with new thrust washers & oil pump.

New Valeo water pump

Assembly starts with new head gasket, new locating dowels & new head bolts

Best purchase I've managed to make for this car is a brand new cylinder head :-D Long story how I came to get my hands on that beauty

Bolted together at last

Current work in progress, which includes waiting for parts to be delivered, is powdercoationg all the bits that attach to the engine

Seems I've neglected this thread a little bit and I've also lost the photos I had of the brand new bonnet & windscreen  but some significant progress has been made

http://williamsclio.co.uk/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=8827&stc=1
http://williamsclio.co.uk/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=8828&stc=1

Drivers rear quarter taken back to bare metal to hunt down any more of this malarkey & the good news is that this is the only rot, it does go a bit deeper into the inner arch & inner sill but all easily fixed

http://williamsclio.co.uk/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=8829&stc=1

Fixed 8-)

http://williamsclio.co.uk/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=8830&stc=1

The doors needed some tlc due to many dings and previous attempts by scrotes to break into the car over the years

Hi Paddy,
Looks like I will have a standard to live up to for #0280, the work done on yours looks absolutely first class.
Was your replacement windscreen difficult to find and where from ?.
I will definitely nee one for mine and I am trying to buy the bits before I start to dismantle.

I got my windscreen from Renault Parts Direct in Swindon just over a year ago & was 1 of the last ones left in the UK so I've got no idea if they're still available
