Does anyone have any recent experience of changing a roof skin? I currently have a skin chopped off another a Williams that I would like to fit to mine but when speaking to one garage they mentioned this isn't the best way as the skin can bend when being removed.

Now i would have thought it wouldn't be too hard to do but they mentioned a new roof panel would be best but after speaking to my local dealer it seems bloody Renault don't supply this any more so I'm not sure what to do next. Has anyone managed to get hold of a new roof skin recently or successfully transferred one from another vehicle without issues?

Thanks

my motor has a non sunroof skin that was put on the beginning of last year. This is the previous owners thread. http://www.clio16valver.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=35583&p=469267&hilit=new+roof+skin#p469267

Thanks for that its exactly what I have been after and hopefully mine will look as good as yours once done. One question though what dealer did you order the roof panel from as the Swindon branch aren't able to help me so it looks as if I'm going to have to go on a mission to find a new one!

BeanieSport recently changed the roof skins on a Saxo vts, and I'm sure they did the roof on their own Clio,

The Saxo roof came from a scrap car, job looks spot on.

Maybe their the guys to talk to.

Cheers, I also have a saxo and it does look slightly easier as the roof channels go all the way to the windscreen but these guys look good.

If you have never seen this project thread it's well worth a read. It was actually a real carbon roof they replaced theirs with.
