crunching your gearbox

wasnt paying attention and crunched my gearbox yesterday :( seems to be fine now tho, but has anyone ever had any serious problems after doing so. i was changing into 3rd from 2nd (bout 6k rpm) really pissed off abt it

Dont worry about it. The one thing in the Willy gearboxes favour is that it does have very strong synchros and only heavy repeated abuse is going to give it long term damage.

The worst crunch ive ever heard was thejesus' old diesel box.

It was like there was a some well done pork crackling sat in the 2nd gear gaitor.
