Just putting together my new clio I bought it as an unfinished project and have put everything back on it that I could find but it won't start and doesn't seem to have any spark I can hear fuel pump wining but I have got a square box with a jagged line in it flashing constantly which I presume is a check engine type deal can you do flash codes from it or is it diag box only any help be great

Well couldn't get standard key to do anything but it has got a cobra alarm systme on it which seems to be working but have done some looking around and found cars alarm ecu in passenger front corner full of water so think I may need another one unless there is a way to wire around it

You want a phase 1 ecu, that will get rid of the immobiliser problem :winkey:

So I see from searching the forums does a williams one work or does it have to be a valver can't find any on flea bay at the moment

You could always pic the cobra alarm out, normally it's only 2 wires that need joining back together depending on the installer?
I may have a ph1 ecu in the garage.

Yea I found two wires joined in but need to take more trim out to get to it how much for the ecu

Well ecu didn't change anything I am pretty sure I am getting fuel and I am getting spark so it should run shouldn't it what can stop these from starting it just cranks with no intention of firing

Ok so we have def got spark and fuel pump goes but injectors aren't firing i get a positive to both injector wires and am guessing that they are earth tripped any ideas also what numbers are on the top of phase 1 ecu as the numbers match the one I just got that is meant to be a phase 1

Use this guide to help figure out what ecu you've got http://clio16valver.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=35658 :winkey:

How did you sort it? Tried starting mine today after 2 years and it doesn't fire which is very surprising ..

We sorted the immobiliser to start with then pulled the injectors out which two of had pins coming out the back so worth checking

Thanks for that, the immobiliser is fine, what do you mean by pins?

The pins in the plugs to the injectors themselves had pushed out the back of the plug have you got spark and fuel going to rail
