View Full Version : Radiator
Can anyone recommend a decent replacement Radiator, renault want £150 for one, I don't need one as such as I have no leak's and car temp sit's fine but mine is a bit worn out/cores are weak and while I've got the front off the car might change it.
Have seen some on ebay for £69 but these are probably poor quality! (get what you pay for!)
are they common with any other models? or can anyone recommend a reasonable quality replacement?
Thanks
Dean

I replaced mine Dean, but for the life of me can't remember where i got it. When I get home tonight i'll look out my stuff and let you know. Worth getting a low temp switch and thermostat at the same time if you are replacing the rad.
Ok Jamie, Thanks for that, I'm mainly considering replacing mine as I need to remove it remove all the surface rust of the subframe under it! where did you get the low temp switch from? I don't have a problem with the stat as such but prob worth replacing anyways! Got the car right in bits now, have no room on my garage! starting to sort of the chassis rust, thankfully it is all just surface and is coming off easily so I can treat it and then wax oil it.

No probs. I got the switch and stat from k-tec. Sounds like your getting right into the car now. Any pics of the progress?
Just been doing bit's here and there with limited time, I need to really get everything refitted but I've bought loads of rubbish parts so seems a waste of time fitting them! while it's in bits im tackling the rust anyways but want to get it back together and in for an MOT so I know if anything else is needed before I cut the rust out of the arches. The car it's self runs really sweetly, hoping to replace all the suspension components as this will make it the car it once was!

Cheers for that mate!
£58 is cheap, are they resonable quality!?
Ditno - what rad do you have? new or used? Mine is ok so would be daft to replace an used one with a used one!

I've not had any hassle whatsoever with it. I even bought one for my old 225 cup from them and it's still going strong.
Cool ok mate, for that price it's worth changing!, the part of the subframe underneath my radiator looks quite weak so need to remove it asses that!

Yeah certainlt is worth changing. I just discovered the original grey subframe under years of road dirt and other crap on my one... Looks a million times better
Think mine is more brown lol! I really wanted to remove the engine and fully clean it all out but don't have time at the moment and it doesn't really required it as such, I thought there was going to be some leaks but my garage floor is clear!

Yeah mine was black/brown and gungy. No leaks is a bonus! Going to change the coolant bottle along with radiator?

Thats what I want to do is remove the engine be so much easier to get in and clean and treat
Have a brand new coolant bottle to go on mate, got it from Ads. My coolant bottle is pretty clean which is a good sign with the maintenance!
Going to order a rad from there now!
Just realised this company are just up the road from me 6 miles away!
