Someone correct me here, are the alternators 90AMP or 70AMP ive just removed mine from the car and its says 70A its the original alternator never been off the car were some fitted with a 90a and some with a70a i know its original because ive had the car from new

Williams alternators come 90amp while the 1.8 Clio's are 70amp :)

Get used to it....
everybody confuses the 1.8 and the Williams :(


A 1.8 alternator will fit perfect....
just the 20amps in the difference.

Just picked a new one up from renault and its 70A

as the original was 70A i assume this is correct they assured me after much debate and checking its correct

70amp will work fine.

You can mess about with higher amp Mk1 Diesel alternators or ones for the 172 I think, but it might take a little re-wiring.
