Im hopefully viewing/buying 2 Williams 2's on Sat, both have no tax but 12 months MOT, I was planning on just getting a 1 day insurance with Aviva to drive the car home but would I be able to get tax at the post office with a short policy like this?

I might add the car to my current multi car policy but I just wanted to get it home for now!

check with other online short term cover companies, like tempcover. as they do state if the short policy can be used for getting road tax

Check the wording carefully on the policy as some temporary ones let you tax it & some don't

I might be better off just calling my multi car up and asking how much extra the insurance is, some won't quote a williams for a day and others want between 50 & 70 quid for a day!

does anyone use classic insurance?

I will only want to insure the car for 6 months of each year roughly!

iirc a few people have insured their williams on a classic policy through a company called Peter Best

I've had some expensive quotes so far not sure if it's because it's an old car? I insure my megane 250 & R26 on a multicar policy for £900 a year!

i tax cars every day on a one or 7 day cover note issued by RSA

i went from peter best(classic policy) to adrian flux (classic policy) as adrian flux was cheaper

I've added the car to my multicar policy for an additional £249 for the next 9 months.

Just hope it's a good car worth buying!
