Tools needed:
1 x hand drill
1 x thread repair kit M12 x 1.5 x 16.3mm

I know a few of us have struggled with rounded or duff threads on the front hubs, and finding decent replacements can be tough, however I have spent today replacing all of my threads in the hubs with new ones, for a total of £11.99.

I purchased a Helicoil type kit from eBay. It includes everything you need

Instructions:

Remove the wheel, caliper and disc.

Then all you do is drill through the old threads with the drill bit supplied, then using the tap slowly create a new thread by hand.
You will need to cut 3 coils (with a Dremel) from the wire thread inserts as they are too long for the Williams hubs, then use the tool to spin them into the newly tapped holes. You might need the Dremel again to trim them from the back if they do not snap themselves.

Result is:

Perfect threads...

And the wheels back on, first time with 4 bolts each side!

Took me about 4 hours all in however that did include all 8 threads (2 x front hubs) and drilling out a snapped bolt which took approx 1 hour.
