the digital part of the dash is not working ,is there a easy fix and what does it do ?

It might just be the backlight.

Do you mean the digital external temperature display? If it's not the backlight then there is a relay that controls it that is worth checking. Can't remember which one it is in the passenger glovebox, but a search will probably turn up the info. If it was flashing then that points to it being the sensor itself (located in passenger wing mirror) but it sounds from what you are saying that there is no display at all and thus it should be unlikely to be sensor related.

Mine is bit dicky too. The backlight flickers, never goes dark but definitely doesn't stay a consistent colour. Is that normal or can it sorted? Drives me mad!

New backlight bulbs should sort it. Worked for me.

is that to the OP or me? is my bulb on the way out or just voltage fluctuations?

Both actually Ben. You'd be surprised that it's only a bulb. It was a hallelujah moment when I changed mine!

Mine used to light up but didn't display anything. Turns out someone had pulled a cable out of the little green plug and pressed it back into the wrong pin
